This is actually something I’ve been thinking of for quite sometime. Wongfu’s SHELL reminded me of it and inspired me to write this..
For those who haven’t seen the video yet, do check it out
SHELL explore the possibility to have a memory you never really did, but what I’ve been thinking of is what if our dream comes true? Not dreams as in your goals though, the ones you have when you fall asleep. I think quite a lot of it, coz I just saw Lady Antabelum’s Just A Kiss MV and it goes somewhat the same way.
So imagine this:
You had this dream.
You were walking while engrossing yourself in the book you just managed to get your hands on, miraculously dodging every passers by who comes your way. You were sipping your favorite bubble tea (no complaints, this is my version). Then just out of nowhere you were body slammed and sticky bubble tea was all over your clothes and face. Your book is thrown away from your grasp and practically drenched.
“Hey! Watch where you’re going!” was the first thing that came out of your lips.
“Sorry… I was in a hurry,” he replied while trying with no luck to clean his blouse.
You kneeled to get your book and he kneeled to reach for his bag. And of course you knocked his head.
You cussed under your breath and saw his face for the first time. You saw how his lips curled into a shy smile and said, “Sorry again.”
You got brain freeze and tongue-tied. He stood up and held out his hand for you. For a second you just stared at it, not really knowing what to do.
You quickly regained your composure and took his hand. You exchange numbers as he promised to buy you a new book.
Then the scene changed.
It was late, and he’s accompanying you home. You’re just outside your door a
And was about to bid your goodbye when he leaned closer. Instictively you close you eyes, expectation and excitement building in your chest.
You waited and waited, but nothing happened. You open your eyes and you’re back in your room.
You know you just had a dream, but you can’t recall anything about it. Just a glimpse of someone’s smile. How his lips slowly curled into a smile. But no matter how hard you try, you can’t remember anything else.
Some time passed and you forgot about the dream already. You just bought a book you’ve been waiting forever for and can’t wait till you get home to read it. You decided to read it on your way home while sipping your favorite bubble tea. You managed to dodge passers by coming your way. All but One.
The one guy who seems to be in a hurry that he can’t see a person standing in his way and just hit you, not hard enough to make you fall on your bum, but certainly hard enough to spill your bubble tea all over your face, shirt and new book.
You can feel anger bubbling up inside you, ready to lash out at the first opportunity, as you turned to look at the guy who just hit you.
Then suddenly an overwhelming feeling of dejavú rushed through and all the anger just dissapear…
He looks up and, “Hi…” you both said at the same time. His lips curled into a shy smile and an image of the same smile flashed in your head.
Have you ever had this kind of dream? A dream about a guy whose face is just a blur? No matter how hard you try, you just can’t see/remember his face, though you can remember other things in your dream?
If the answer is yes, then congratulation! The Chinese believes that if you have that kind of dream it means you have met you soulmate. Chances are he’s having the same dream. At least that’s what my friend told me. Hahahah..
I actually did have a dream like that, not to long ago. Which is why we talked about it in the first place. I did my best to write mu dreams in my other blog. They’re mostly super absurd and crazy.. Which is why it’s fun and each dream amused me still..
They say dreams are a reflection of our problems and troubles. And well, I never knew what they meant.. Hahahah..
